Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
Happy first week of Summer everyone! I really cannot believe it is summer already. I cant wait to share so many delicious treats with you this summer. Which brings me to today’s recipe… Chocolate Chip Banana Bread!
I don’t know about you but my bananas always end up going bad before anyone gets around to eating them all.. honestly, my son is the only person in my house who eats bananas anymore. If you can relate or have some very ripe bananas in your kitchen then now is the perfect time to make my Chocolate Chip Banana Bread!

I find with banana bread there are a couple recipe alternations you can make if you’re interested. You can substitute sugar with honey or white sugar with brown sugar. A lot of people also add in nuts but I prefer chocolate chips over walnuts or pecans!
Over the weekend I decided to try out a new banana bread recipe and it was so delicious. That’s why I’m sharing it with all of you.
Banana bread is probably my favorite “breakfast” food because it’s filling, delicious and tastes wonderful with a cup of coffee. Now that I think about it… I wouldn’t mind making this every week just for breakfast!
Super Simple Banana Bread
All you need is ripe bananas,melted butter, baking soda, sugar, flour, eggs, salt & chocolate chips!

First, you will want to mash up your bananas really well with a fork. If you are using bananas that aren’t very ripe this recipe will still work, just mash them up super well.
Next, you will want to add in your egg, melted butter (melted butter is the key to my recipe), salt, sugar, baking soda & flour. And then lastly, fold in your chocolate chips!
Pour your Banana Bread batter into a greased loaf pan – Please note that baking times vary depending which type of bread or loaf pan you use. I used a glass pan, other pans might call for shorter bake times or longer bake times.
Place your banana bread into your preheated oven (350°) for about 60 minutes – checking to make sure it doesn’t burn on the top. If you notice it starts to burn on the top but isn’t cooked through, place aluminum foil over it and continue to bake!
The best way to see if your banana bread (or anything you bake) is cooked through is by poking it with a knife or toothpick and it comes out clean (no dough).

- 3 Ripe Bananas
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 Melted Butter
- 2 Cups Flour
- 1/2 Cup of Chocolate Chips
- Pinch of Salt
- Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit
- Mash up your ripe bananas very well in a mixing bowl
- Mix the eggs, melted butter, flour, baking soda & salt in with the mashed bananas
- Fold in chocolate chips
- Pour your batter into a loaf pan and place into your preheated oven for about 60 minutes.
- Let cool & enjoy!
- Bake times may vary depending on the type of loaf pan you use. I used a glass loaf pan for this recipe. The best thing you can do is check your bread every so oven. If it starts to burn too much on the top and isn't baked through just place aluminum foil over it and continue to bake!
